Thoughts on Privacy

Internet Privacy

Internet privacy has been a really big issue lately. People seem to think that Facebook sells all of their private information online to advertisers, and maybe they do. No one seems to really do anything about it though. I mean Facebook still has like 500 million users or something like that, right? Even I use Facebook, so even if they are selling all of my information on there I guess I'm not doing a lot to stop it, huh? Google supposedly does it too, but mostly just with what people search on it. That doesn't sound super harmful though, why's it matter if they keep track of what movies and websites you like to look up?

It sounds like people might just be super uptight about the whole thing anyways. I mean if you don't want Facebook to have all your info, don't use it? What else can you do really? It's not like you HAVE to have a Facebook anyways, it's totally optional. I guess it makes it easier to keep track of old friends, but if you really care that much about your private info on it you'll probably just stop using it anyways, right? I wouldn't use it if I were really that scared about people finding all my personal information and then showing up at my house or something. Not like I really think that'd ever happen though, after all I can make all of that stuff private. And who's going to show up at my house then, Facebook employees? Again, the whole thing just seems really overblown.
